Question by divinemadness: Master Cleanser detox diet lemons anyone done this?
anyone done this?

7 min 5 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice (1/2 lemon)
2 tablespoons of pure grade b maple syrup or a maple syrup
1-2 pinch cayenne pepper, to taste (red)
12 ounces of purified water (very warm)

Not the one? See other Master Cleanser Recipes
< 15 mins Beverages
Low Protein Beverages
Citrus Beverages
Cut up some (preferably organic) lemons or limes.
Heat up your water (I just zap it in the microwave for 90 seconds).
Squeeze lemon/lime juice into the warm water (try to avoid getting seeds in your water-- I use a tea filter).
Sprinkle a little cayenne powder in and stir in your maple syrup.
Drink this several times a day when you get hungry or thirsty (ok to alternate with pure water but not much else).
Use this as an exclusive food for 2-30 days, as you deem appropriate.

Question by satori: Becoming a vegan: has this happened to you or anyone you know?
Well, a few years back I started to slowly remove meats from my diet. It wasn’t a conscious decision, much less one that was meant to make a statement of any sort.

It’s just that my body couldn’t take eating meats anymore. I literally started feeling sick to my stomach whenever I ate any beef or chicken. Then, one fateful day, I also found out I couldn’t eat eggs anymore – or drink milk!

I am not kidding! And, again, these are not things that I “decided” to do. At least not on a conscious level, as most vegetarians will tell you it’s not an easy transition in the beginning. But for me, and very surprisingly, it all felt very natural. I never crave meats or eggs or milk.

Of course being a vegetarian makes for some awkward moments at dinner parties and such, where people seem to put meats and meat products on 90% of their dishes. LOL

Anyway, this was all something that happened very naturally to me. Have you or anyone you know ever gone through this transition this way?

Also, I sometimes think this has something to do with my spiritual practice. As I learn more, I’m beginning to think that being a vegetarian was a way my body found of detoxifying itself to prepare for this period (and subsequent ones) of my life.

I would love to hear from anyone who’s experienced something like this.

((( Only serious answers, please! )))

Sorry, So Sad,…..A so called “detox drink” is a waste of money. If the outbreak is indeed caused be an allergic reaction, you’ve got to find out what food, or foods, cause it and avoid them. As for the website recommended by II, I looked at it and it’s an advertisement for a variety of products that the companies hope you’ll try. Your best bet is a dermatologist. There is an acme medication on the market which is a variant of vitamin A and is prescribed by a physician. You might try that, but you’ll need a doctor’s prescription to get it, (at least in America). Some of my former students were given massive doses of antibiotics which helped, but I’m not sure that’s still done. It’s a heart-breaking problem, and many adults don’t take it seriously, especially if they never had to deal with it. Definitely see a physician! It’s the best thing you can do and much better than going on YA.

fruit juices are fattening. have veg juices instead.

follow a practical diet. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your plate has this ratio – 50% veg, 25% carb, 25% protein.this will prevent cravings too.an occassional treat is OK. have a snack every three hours. fruit (ideally berries) or soy nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. switch from white rice and bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Lose a kilo a week. that is permanent loss. pick an exercise regime you like.
get a pedometer and take 10,000 steps everyday.

try trampoline. 5 min on a tramp = 30 min on a treadmill.

it is good for cleansing the system! :)

swimming, jump roping, hoola hooping, ice skating, running, racing, pogo sticks, scooters, bike riding, bad mitton, volleyball, football, any other sport. Hop scotch, watching Tv and doing sit ups, dancing, dancing, dancing? haha

and umm:

— toning up —-

It is possible. i think.

if you REALLY try at it. just dont let any extra pounds get in the way..

just try light weights maybe..

– losing weight —
in the morning if you can wake up pretty early, thats when you have the most energy! drink a bottle of water plug in your ipod or whatever and listen to music as you run! — thats my first step.

Then you go home, eat a really healthy breakfast like fruit salad or something thats nutritonal.

After that you pretty much clean the house or whatever maybe take a walk while its cool, walk your pet dog, if you have one, i like to spend the morning doing that while its not so hot outside!

After that you wait a few hours being active as can be, then you relax a little and do some sit ups and lift weights to your own schedule… and your own statistics like weight height goals.. or whatever.. thats what i usually do! And then i like to stretch at the beginning of the day.. haha

MORE TIPS:

chew gum – sugar free. It makes you not snack because if you chew it, you dont want to snack because then you will have to spit out your gum! works for me..

thats my trick tip – now read the losing weight 411

EXTRA: breathing for an hour burns 60 calories, so thats a little lift off your chest haha
and sleeping is the same rate :)

excersise at least 60 minutes a day if you can :)
——-
hey, you know what? The most unexpensive weight loss thing to do, is to try to burn more calories than you eat, dont eat unhealthy like a 500 calorie diet! All that will do is make you sick, you NEED to be healthy to lose weight properly. Im trying to lose weight too! So basically here are some tips to speed up your metabolism: Drink 1-3 glasses of green tea a day
Try and eat Chilli peppers somehow, ((chilli DUH )) they help.
8 classes of water a day

the more active you are, the faster your metabolism will grow to be.

did you know that breathing for an hour burns 60 calories all on its own? And SLEEP is very important, try to go to sleep on time and get your ages average amount of sleep,. ask your doctor what a healthy weight for you is, and then after you have reached that goal do sit ups and crutches – among many other core excersises, Run to slim out, and make sure you burn more calories than you eat – had to repeat that!

Fruits and veggies are REALLY low in calories and FULL of nutrition. If you like Tacos? Ditch the hard shell, maybe try a taco salad.. without the shell of course! Lettuce with meat is good, but PLEASE try mixing it with turkey and beef so that it isnt all fat. Chicken salad is good, you want the protein but you dont want fried anything really, once in a while if fine but remember – YOU HAVE TO BURN OFF THOSE EXTRA CALORIES. Excersises excersise excersise. Dont over do it – dont starve yourself, be moderate and stay active. GOOGLE: 100 ways to burn 100 calories, their are some pretty cool things you can do!

Stay away from starchy and high carb foods – mostly white things. Bread is a bad, so try to stick to thin, HIGH in fiber, slices :)

you can google all the stuff and before you know it you will feel so good about it all and IM actually excited to start working out and all that, just because I know what it will do for me!

Er, no, it isn’t a “healthy detox” it’s the fast way to making you very ill.

You won’t lose anything – if anything you’ll gain, especially when you begin eating again.

Question by Baby: Does this juice detox sound safe?
First, I’d like to say that I am not doing this fast for weight loss reasons. I FULLY understand that I will almost certainly gain back ALL of the weight I lose, and if I do lose weight it will be because of water loss and not fast loss. I know, I know, I know. However, I’m just wondering if this sounds like a good plan for my purposes, which is to wind down and detoxify my system after this college semester. I’ve done a lot of research on juice fasts and decided that 3 days is probably the most suitable for me. SO here’s the plan…
Day 1: Eat only veggies and Fruit
Day 2: Eat only veggies and Fruit again, mostly raw
Day 3: Start the juice. Only 100% juice like apple, pineapple, carrot, whatever.
Day 4: Juice and Water
Day 5: Juice and Water
Day 6: Drink some orange juice in the morning and maybe a few fruits/ veggies throughout the day
Day 7: Back to fruits and Veggies
Day 8: Fruits and Veggies again, maybe add some protein
Day 9: fruits, veggies, protein
Day 10: Fruits, veggies, protein, and a few carbs.

and after that just kind of wean my way back into normal eating.
Does this sound like it’s going to be harmful to my body? Any suggestions, alterations? I’m not sure if this will help, but I already eat a diet full veggies and fruit, high protein, try to somewhat limit my carb (and only healthy carbs!) intake, and severely limit processed foods. Again, I’m doing this for detox purposes; I have several friends who have done far more extreme fasts and swear that they really make you feel a lot better. Thanks so much!
I understand that fruits and vegetables are carbs, I meant other carbs like pasta. And the research I’ve done wasn’t science based, it was through other peoples’ experiences. I guess I should have specified.

I can’t imagine what research you came across, seeing as their is no scientific evidence that detox diets actually do anything.

I doubt you’ll do any harm, that’s a pretty relaxed “detox.” Fruits and vegetables are carbs, by the way.
