Question by AMANDA K: Broke this season….need detox info?
Hi there – does anyone have any good information or resources on inexpensive (using everyday ingredients) home “remedies” for health related issues? I am looking for anything and everything related to purification/detoxing for your digestive system and liver/pancreas. I am a religious “seasonal” detox-er and this fall do not have the money that I usually have to spend. I am specifically looking to detox from sugar, caffine, processed foods and nicotine. I know it sounds brutal but I do this twice a year and feel great after the initial system shock!!

Thanks!! (my belly thanks you all in advance)

O you’re attractive lol. My grandfather had been an alcoholic for 40+ years and we went to a fitotherapy pharmacy and bought a tincture made of some kind of plant that takes the craving away and it helped. We slipped a drop or two into his coffee and he stopped wanting to drink. Try it!

Question by Unas Slayer of the Gods: Is this a good to way to get skinny?
To get Metabolism faster-

In the morning, have something with a lot of carbs. With every meal have protein, complex carbohydrates, and mono-unsaturated fats.

Detoxify fat cells-
By getting a body wrap at a spa or doing that hat home. This will get out the bad carcinogens and stuff, that are stored in your fat cells.

Exercise-
Lift weights and do cardio and yoga.

Is this a good plan?

No:
1)Carbs are the enemy
2)Detox is nonsense.
3)There is no evidence that exercise makes you slimmer.

Question by divinemadness: Master Cleanser detox diet lemons anyone done this?
anyone done this?

7 min 5 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice (1/2 lemon)
2 tablespoons of pure grade b maple syrup or a maple syrup
1-2 pinch cayenne pepper, to taste (red)
12 ounces of purified water (very warm)

Not the one? See other Master Cleanser Recipes
< 15 mins Beverages
Low Protein Beverages
Citrus Beverages
Cut up some (preferably organic) lemons or limes.
Heat up your water (I just zap it in the microwave for 90 seconds).
Squeeze lemon/lime juice into the warm water (try to avoid getting seeds in your water-- I use a tea filter).
Sprinkle a little cayenne powder in and stir in your maple syrup.
Drink this several times a day when you get hungry or thirsty (ok to alternate with pure water but not much else).
Use this as an exclusive food for 2-30 days, as you deem appropriate.

Question by satori: Becoming a vegan: has this happened to you or anyone you know?
Well, a few years back I started to slowly remove meats from my diet. It wasn’t a conscious decision, much less one that was meant to make a statement of any sort.

It’s just that my body couldn’t take eating meats anymore. I literally started feeling sick to my stomach whenever I ate any beef or chicken. Then, one fateful day, I also found out I couldn’t eat eggs anymore – or drink milk!

I am not kidding! And, again, these are not things that I “decided” to do. At least not on a conscious level, as most vegetarians will tell you it’s not an easy transition in the beginning. But for me, and very surprisingly, it all felt very natural. I never crave meats or eggs or milk.

Of course being a vegetarian makes for some awkward moments at dinner parties and such, where people seem to put meats and meat products on 90% of their dishes. LOL

Anyway, this was all something that happened very naturally to me. Have you or anyone you know ever gone through this transition this way?

Also, I sometimes think this has something to do with my spiritual practice. As I learn more, I’m beginning to think that being a vegetarian was a way my body found of detoxifying itself to prepare for this period (and subsequent ones) of my life.

I would love to hear from anyone who’s experienced something like this.

((( Only serious answers, please! )))

Sorry, So Sad,…..A so called “detox drink” is a waste of money. If the outbreak is indeed caused be an allergic reaction, you’ve got to find out what food, or foods, cause it and avoid them. As for the website recommended by II, I looked at it and it’s an advertisement for a variety of products that the companies hope you’ll try. Your best bet is a dermatologist. There is an acme medication on the market which is a variant of vitamin A and is prescribed by a physician. You might try that, but you’ll need a doctor’s prescription to get it, (at least in America). Some of my former students were given massive doses of antibiotics which helped, but I’m not sure that’s still done. It’s a heart-breaking problem, and many adults don’t take it seriously, especially if they never had to deal with it. Definitely see a physician! It’s the best thing you can do and much better than going on YA.
