Detox For Health The Ultimate Guide of Tasty Juice Recipes

I am a firm believer in juicing. I was initially introduced to it ten years ago in my search of that “magical weight loss pill”. And while I have always enjoyed fresh fruits and veggies I have also been guilty about not always incorporating them into my daily meals; so the idea of getting them in fresh juice seemed workable to me.

In my goal to lose weight and get healthier, the juicing made complete sense because if the body received what it needed then cravings would automatically dissipate; and if the nutrients from juicing provided more energy than I would be more apt to exercise regularly.

In addition to what I was seeking personally, I saw it as a benefit to the whole family. Because unlike me, they weren’t crazy about fresh vegetables but they considered fruit acceptable. Of course being a mom, I learned to “sneak” things in recipes anyway…so why couldn’t I do it for juicing.

So after many months of research and taste testing I bring to you the ultimate guide of tasty recipes that will detox and energize you!

Question by Miss Lynae: Lemonade Cleanse 10 day diet? Help me with recipe please!!!?
Hey all!! I was watching La Ink last nite, and two of the girls made a “lemonade cleanse”. It’s a diet you do for 10 days and you drink as much of this “lemonade” drink as you want. You mix lemon juices, filtered water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It’s supposed to help you lose weight and detox your body.
OK so… My question is:
In the recipe for the “lemonade” you’re supposed to use maple syrup. Well I messed up and when I went to the store today, I got pure molasses. Does anyone know about this lemonade cleanse?
Can I use the molasses instead of the maple syrup? And if not, what kind of maple syrup? It’s not supposed to be the kind you use on pancakes and stuff… So what kind is it!?!?
Thanks you guys!! TGIF!!! Have a great weekend!!

I heard about that and asked my father about it- you are not doing your body justice with that. You may think your cleansing- but your really killing.

try laxatives instead- and when you finish you will need to eat a lot of yogurt to replace all of the organisms that will have died.

Question by bananapancakes8323: Has anyone done “The Master Cleanse”?
I found a website that has a detox/cleanse recipe called “The Master Cleanse”. I am interested in doing this because I would like to change my lifestyle, including but not limited to, stopping smoking, eating better, and overall feeling better. I would like to know if anyone has done this, and if I should do it for the recommended 10 days or start with 5. A friend of mine has pledged to do it with me, but I am curious to see how if makes you feel afterward. In other words, is it really life-changing??
If there is any other alternative method you know of for detox or cleansing, please let me know!! I am tired of feeling fat, lazy and unhealthy!!!

TYLER — Shedding the pounds is always a popular new Year's resolution.

While some may try to jump start weight loss with a detox diet or cleanse, there may be certain risks involved if you don't do it right.

some recipes involve depriving yourself of certain foods for a period of time, like "the Master Cleanse," which involves drinking nothing but water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for a few weeks.

Michael Polczynski of Nutrition Destination in Tyler says those types of cleanses are not healthy.

"If you get low in nutrients, you'll get more unhealthy blood cell production," Polczynski said. "everything is connected in the body and it just snowballs one after the other."

Polczynski says cleanses should always involve proper nutrition.

"Anytime your body starts using all of its' own natural resources as the only source of nutrients, your body doesn't make all the nutrients that it needs," he said.

Other risks of detoxing the wrong way include dehydration and loss of body mass.

Though you may temporarily lose weight, it's not good for you in the long run.

"there is a safe way to do it: what you really want to do is try and get a nice balance of enzymes and bacteria in your small intestines to help break down your food naturally," Polczynski said.

Carla Hardaway is 14 days into a 21-day cleanse.

She's taking a pill on top of eating healthfully that helps cleans out her intestines and replace the good bacteria she's losing.

she says it is working for her.

she has already lost inches in her waistline and notices her clothes fitting differently.

"It'll make u feel better it'll give you energy … it's also curing my appetite," she said. "It's causing me to want to eat healthy and less."

Polczynski recommends cleansing four times a year.

he also says you shouldn't try cleansing when you are sick, and drinking your weight in ounces of water everyday.

For example: If you weigh 200 pounds, strive for drinking 100 ounces of water everyday.

more tips from Polczynski:

Women need on average about 25 grams of fiber daily.

Men need 35 grams of fiber or more.

another fun fact about fiber: Each gram of fiber is equivalent to burning seven calories.

So … say 30 grams of fiber is 210 calories burned that you didn't even have to work off.

If you eat fruit, eat the whole fruit and not just the juice, because it has fiber in it.

any type of substance that is a glutenous-type material is what needs to be flushed out of your body, because that's what absorbs water and becomes sticky on the intestinal walls' finger-like lining, called villi.

"what damages villi is drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, eating high fat foods, and stress,"  Polczynski said. So you want to promote the growth of the villi and cleansing of the food that gets stuck down in there to have healthy villi."

Can a Traditional Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole Go Paleo?
It has been shown as effective as a detox option as well as a potential diabetic diet and, with weight control possibilities, claims have been made that one can lose weight fast by being on a paleo diet, but I'm not sure I'm into that.

Question by hater_proof2002: Does anyone have a homemade recipe for a body detox?
I just started working out at the gym and walking. I am obese but I am trying to lose weight. Since working out and sweating, i have noticed a foul odor coming out of my sweat. This is not my sweat from childhood, believe me. So I assumed I needed to detox. Help with that.

Question by divinemadness: Master Cleanser detox diet lemons anyone done this?
anyone done this?

7 min 5 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice (1/2 lemon)
2 tablespoons of pure grade b maple syrup or a maple syrup
1-2 pinch cayenne pepper, to taste (red)
12 ounces of purified water (very warm)

Not the one? See other Master Cleanser Recipes
< 15 mins Beverages
Low Protein Beverages
Citrus Beverages
Cut up some (preferably organic) lemons or limes.
Heat up your water (I just zap it in the microwave for 90 seconds).
Squeeze lemon/lime juice into the warm water (try to avoid getting seeds in your water-- I use a tea filter).
Sprinkle a little cayenne powder in and stir in your maple syrup.
Drink this several times a day when you get hungry or thirsty (ok to alternate with pure water but not much else).
Use this as an exclusive food for 2-30 days, as you deem appropriate.
