Question by ♪ Billy Joel ♪ OWNS You!: Do detox food pads really work?
Some people claim they heal them and take all the toxins out. Others think they’re a scam for gullible people who believe into it. I’ve been using Mudoku Detox Foot Pads for four days now, I am feeling better, but I don’t know if it is my imagination or they really work.

What’s your take? Do you think they work? Also, what are the side effects of using them?
I licked one one time to see waht they taste like (I’m that weird) and it turned brown so does that mean the ones I am using don’t work?

Answer by nature mama
I’m skeptical of them. I’ve heard that if you place those pads in water or some other substance (I can’t remember what), they will also turn dark. But if you are feeling better, keep it going. There are lots of other ways to detox.

Many organs can get backed up with toxic material. Our bodies are expected to handle a lot more than they were intended for. Anyone who has been on various herbal detox programs can attest to the great benefits it produced. I have heard of MD’s speak of this as well. I’m not sure why the one poster is so hostile to the concept of ridding the body of toxins. Years ago when I started doing them (and the ones she lists aren’t at all what most people use when detoxing), I was very sick and became vibrantly healthy afterwards. Not a placebo! I don’t understand all the hostility on this forum towards natural healing methods. If people want to use western medicine exclusively, by all means do so, but don’t discourage others from experiencing health and wellness in ways that you really know nothing about.

Sorry about my rant. I got off subject!

What do you think? Answer below!

I’m not crazy. I know that items purchased at the dollar store are watered-down versions of the original. but it was fate. and when fate calls, you answer.

One of the times I was living in Japan I worked at a daycare. some of the women would come in with those detox pads on their feet, claiming they did wonders. then the other day my neighbor Kate and I were talking about wanting to do a cleanse, but we’re nursing, so can’t yet. I mentioned the detox foot pads, she asked if they worked, I told her what the Japanese girls told me. Granted, there are plenty of things that American friends of mine swear by and I think are silly. but there’s always a good chance I’ll try it before I decide for myself.

Cut to Saturday. We had our pictures taken and had promised a certain little girl ice cream for cooperating, so we decided to go to Top This (a great frozen yogart place). Alas, they were closed for another fifteen minutes, but a dollar store loomed in the horizon, begging us to come in. as is any trip to the dollar store, we came out with about ten items we didn’t need, including Mudoku foot pads that my loving husband brought to my attention because he had heard the conversation between Kate and I.

Last night I slapped those puppies on, and took two to Kate for her to try. as of this posting, I’m awaiting a reply from her as to how they worked. Here’s a run-down of how they worked for me:

~When opening the package the tea-bag-esque foot pad rips super easily. which means that you end up getting some of the powder on your foot. It just means that you need to wash your feet in the morning when you take it off.

~You have to wear them for 8-10 hours. The package suggests wearing them overnight, but like I said earlier, the girls I knew would wear them to work.

~It claims to help join pain, even showing pictures on the package of people wearing them other places (belly, elbow, knee, etc). I didn’t feel any difference in my joints, but it did cross my mind to put the pad on my right ankle (which has a chipped bone currently).

~The pads smell like beef bullion. No joke.

~That’s it. I don’t feel different, but as you will see below, I did get some black stuff on the pads. my right foot had more black on it than the left, which makes me wonder again about my right ankle injury. who knows!

Question by Rainbow Girl: Mudoku Foot Detox Pads?
I recently tried Mudoku Detox Pads that are supposed take any impurities out of your skin where you put them. Your supposed to use them at night for best results and I used two. Both nights I had absolutely terrifying dreams. When I woke up I was all sweaty and my sheets were tangled around my legs. Once I finally fell back asleep, it was the same dream that woke me up screaming. I’m not one to have nightmares but these were really scary. I was wondering if anyone else had any bizarre side effects when using these.

Answer by Lightbright
Now that you mention it, I have awaken to a sweaty body mainly my upper body area. Now as far as the dreams, I can’t really say that it’s anything out of the ordinary. I’m not a heavy sleeper and I do sleep with a body pillow to separate my legs (so there is no problem with tangled sheets.) I do intend to do more research on the pads and try to geat as much info as possible.
