Question by Miss Lynae: Lemonade Cleanse 10 day diet? Help me with recipe please!!!?
Hey all!! I was watching La Ink last nite, and two of the girls made a “lemonade cleanse”. It’s a diet you do for 10 days and you drink as much of this “lemonade” drink as you want. You mix lemon juices, filtered water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It’s supposed to help you lose weight and detox your body.
OK so… My question is:
In the recipe for the “lemonade” you’re supposed to use maple syrup. Well I messed up and when I went to the store today, I got pure molasses. Does anyone know about this lemonade cleanse?
Can I use the molasses instead of the maple syrup? And if not, what kind of maple syrup? It’s not supposed to be the kind you use on pancakes and stuff… So what kind is it!?!?
Thanks you guys!! TGIF!!! Have a great weekend!!

I heard about that and asked my father about it- you are not doing your body justice with that. You may think your cleansing- but your really killing.

try laxatives instead- and when you finish you will need to eat a lot of yogurt to replace all of the organisms that will have died.

Question by Steve O: Is the Lemonade Diet for Detox, Weight Loss or Just a Fad Diet? Is the Lemonade Diet Safe?
I am interested in detoxing and beginning to eat better. I have read a lot about the Lemonade Diet. Sometimes this is called the Master Cleanse, but I always have called it the Lemonade Diet.

It seems safe. You start the Diet by making the Lemonade out of Lemons, Maple Syrup and Cayenne Pepper. You don’t eat or drink anything else except water while doing the Lemonade Diet and supposedly you loose lots of fat and eliminate toxins that are stored up in your body.

I understand lots of people get scared of the Lemonade Diet because it is an unknown, alternative idea but I want to know if there are any factual pros or cons to doing it. Drinking the Lemonade seems to give you calories and nutrients (rich, organic lemons and high grade sugar) and so it would seem the diet is like an internal IV system.

Thanks for your help.

It’s just a fad.
Any temporary diets are fads.
Liquid diets are even more of a fad. You’re just starving yourself, and when you’re done your brain will tell you to overeat to compensate.
And detoxing is also a fad, and crap science. Unless you have been poisoned, you don’t need to detox anything. And drinking lots of liquid wouldn’t help that anyway.

Every time you turn around there is another fad diet staring you in the face. they make all kinds of promises, but you never know whats true and what is a load of junk. With anyone and everyone writing on the internet, you cant even tell if the person talking has a clue what is going on.

The best thing to do seems to be the oldest practice there is. Talk to your doctor or dietitian. they are the ones best qualified to give you accurate and helpful information about how to lose weight and the best weight loss program for you. they will also protect you from scams and unsafe fade diets. Most likely, they will encourage you to eat healthy foods, exercise and get plenty of rest. its the trifecta of safe weight loss.

If you arent convinced, check out these two more recent fad diets that are plastered all over the internet.

LEMONADE DIETThis is a detox diet aka a fast aka starvation. it is a two-week program where the participant drinks lemonade everyday and eats no food. aside from the obvious health risks involved with lack of food and nutrients, there are the absurd ingredients in the lemonade. it is made of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. While the lemon juice isnt bad, the maple syrup is a poor choice especially when you arent eating anything else. they cayenne pepper is a seemingly random ingredient which adds no nutritional benefit to the mix.

AFRICAN MANGO DIETDiet pills are always a concern when it comes to safety and reliability. they do not require the same amount of scrutiny and other forms of medication and are, therefore, less likely to be safe. also, the African Mango Diet allows participants to eat anything including unhealthy foods.

Question by dream_out: master cleanse diet -aka lemonade diet?
I am starting the master cleanse diet tomorrow and hoping to last for 10 days. My reasons are for weight loss and detoxing my body. I have a few questions for anyone who is knowledgeable about this diet or have tried it yourself:
Do I have to use everything organic? I have found organic lemons. However, I can’t seem to find organic maple syrup nor organic cayenne pepper. I understand that the point of the diet is to detox, hence, the organic ingredients. How important is this though?
Also, can I mix pure water with the lemon juice, maple and ceyenne pepper into one bottle? Or do I need to seperate the water with everything else and take “shots” of the lemon juice?
If anyone can share their experience with me then please feel free. Thank you!

Actually, my brother did this.
I wanted to do it too after i saw that he lost a couple of pounds in a few days but he quit because it’s actually pretty tough.
Yes everything has to be organic, I went and bought the ingredients for this with my brother and mom in an all organic store.
I’m not sure about the second part because my brother drank it when he was at home.
I don’t think you’d want to go out after drinking the drink because you have to frequently use the bathroom after drinking it.
Good luck though :]

answer mine please?
