Question by abilgal92: i just finished a juice detox (3 days). what ‘light’ foods can i begin to eat now?
actually i thought of sandwich but tuna isn’t that healthy afterall when it is being mixed with mayo. then i thought of ham,low calorie and generally healthy but it is sort of a convenience food with high sodium. so can i still eat it?

I am interested in detoxing and beginning to eat better. I have read a lot about the Lemonade Diet. Sometimes this is called the Master Cleanse, but I always have called it the Lemonade Diet.

It seems safe. You start the Diet by making the Lemonade out of Lemons, Maple Syrup and Cayenne Pepper. You don’t eat or drink anything else except water while doing the Lemonade Diet and supposedly you loose lots of fat and eliminate toxins that are stored up in your body.

I understand lots of people get scared of the Lemonade Diet because it is an unknown, alternative idea but I want to know if there are any factual pros or cons to doing it. Drinking the Lemonade seems to give you calories and nutrients (rich, organic lemons and high grade sugar) and so it would seem the diet is like an internal IV system.

It’s just a fad.
Any temporary diets are fads.
Liquid diets are even more of a fad. You’re just starving yourself, and when you’re done your brain will tell you to overeat to compensate.
And detoxing is also a fad, and crap science. Unless you have been poisoned, you don’t need to detox anything. And drinking lots of liquid wouldn’t help that anyway.

Question by Mariposa: Are Detox/colon cleansers just a myth?
After reading detailed reviews about people taking colon cleansers and seeing various sci-fi like things come out of themselves, I’m wondering if detox is really useful or not. I once took a 7 day Cleanse program from GNC, and I felt better after using it, but I don’t know if that had more to do with my healthy diet and exercise. I saw all these pictures of intestinal goop and while most research says that the liver can do just fine detoxing the body, what about the goop? All of that stuff can’t be good in the colon, but does it present dangers to ones health to take all that fiber and who knows what else? Technically, what would that in depth, complicated colon cleanse offer that say, a dose of Metamucil couldn’t? All those reviews said they got flatter stomachs, better sleep habits, etc etc etc… What is happening here? I find myself oddly interested in a program, but I don’t want to just be in the bathroom all the time, especially at work.

those products can acrually cause more harm, the best thing is to include the right amount of fiber taking a dump 1-2 times a day & eating raw foods not refined stuff like cookies crackers & shortbread they will develop insulin resistance & plug up your butt
