Question by Miss Lynae: Lemonade Cleanse 10 day diet? Help me with recipe please!!!?
Hey all!! I was watching La Ink last nite, and two of the girls made a “lemonade cleanse”. It’s a diet you do for 10 days and you drink as much of this “lemonade” drink as you want. You mix lemon juices, filtered water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It’s supposed to help you lose weight and detox your body.
OK so… My question is:
In the recipe for the “lemonade” you’re supposed to use maple syrup. Well I messed up and when I went to the store today, I got pure molasses. Does anyone know about this lemonade cleanse?
Can I use the molasses instead of the maple syrup? And if not, what kind of maple syrup? It’s not supposed to be the kind you use on pancakes and stuff… So what kind is it!?!?

I heard about that and asked my father about it- you are not doing your body justice with that. You may think your cleansing- but your really killing.

try laxatives instead- and when you finish you will need to eat a lot of yogurt to replace all of the organisms that will have died.

2 tablespoons of pure grade b maple syrup or a maple syrup
1-2 pinch cayenne pepper, to taste (red)
12 ounces of purified water (very warm)

Cut up some (preferably organic) lemons or limes.
Heat up your water (I just zap it in the microwave for 90 seconds).
Squeeze lemon/lime juice into the warm water (try to avoid getting seeds in your water-- I use a tea filter).
Sprinkle a little cayenne powder in and stir in your maple syrup.
Drink this several times a day when you get hungry or thirsty (ok to alternate with pure water but not much else).
Use this as an exclusive food for 2-30 days, as you deem appropriate.

I’m looking for a SAFE detox recipe that I can do at home.
I don’t want to buy any crazy drink mixes from the internet.

I’ve read about one that included lots of water, juices and cayenne pepper that you drink anytime you feel hungry that I was interested in, but I’m open to any of your suggestions and success stories if you’ve got them!

In the issue of a magizine on the shelf it promised you could loose 9 pounds in three days. It looked pretty reasonable. It was a juice for the first day but the next two days it was not. I would suggest it. If you go to wallgreens or some place with magizines they will have it there. The name I forgot but it had Jenifer Garner on the front. It was pink. :)

Fasting, although often thought of as a detox, is very different from the simple detox diet plans we’ve gone through so far. A fast involves little or no actual nourishment for your body, and is much more intense in unleashing stored toxins.

Fasting can be done with juices or broths, or simply water. the best time for fasting is to transition to or from warm weather, like spring or autumn.

Phil and I did a one-day water fast once, with a day or two of green smoothies on either side. I love green smoothie cleanses, and I liked the water fast for most of the day. when it got to the end of the day though, I was totally tapped of energy and decided to have an apple. It was amazing how quickly I got energized from that apple!

I’ve never tried it myself, but it does have some things going for it. Lemon, cayenne and ginger are all highly cleansing for the blood, and stimulate the digestive system to process whatever might be hanging around in your stomach or colon. one thing to note, though, is that lemonade from a can or a jar is not the stuff to use here. Fresh lemons, or pure lemon juice, is the only way to do this properly.

Some other ways to fast are drinking only herbal teas, drinking only a mineral-rich vegetable broth, or drinking just water. They go a step beyond a detox diet plan in that they have no fiber and barely any calories.

Although fasting can be very effective at pulling toxins from wherever it’s stored in your body, there are some good reasons not too fast. if done improperly, fasting can actually make you sick by releasing toxins, but not clearing them from the body.

When toxins are stored, they don’t cause any symptoms but if they’re released they will wreak havoc and need to be eliminated from the body quickly. There’s no fiber to push the toxins out of the colon during a fast, so many people opt for colon hydrotherapy to clean out the bowels.

A long-term weight loss diet plan strategy needs to incorporate a moderate diet with restricted – but not eliminated – caloric intake along with exercise.

Fasting can be part of the plan, and is great to use as a kick start or as a periodic cleanse, but starvation is not a long-term strategy for healthy weight loss.

Fasting is not an appropriate solution for people who are malnourished or have nutritional deficiencies. This can mean either people who are underweight, or people who are overweight but are under-nourished with a lack of nutrients.

Other situations where fasting is not recommended include:
