I started the diet two days ago and the salt water flush didn’t work for me, I did go to the bathroom one time during that one hour I was very hungry and had my lemonade soon I don’t know if it was too soon. I prefer taking the tea. But the salt water is just sooo soo salty! I could not possible add more!! I felt I was about to die!! so aweful! I added two teaspoons to a quart of warm water, and it just didn’t work. :(

    1) can you eat during this process? 2) do you have to drink a herbal tea after? 3) i want to do it at night is that possible? 4) Is sea salt the only way i can do this cleanse..what about Morton Salt that does not contain iodide? 5) how long should i do this cleansing?

  12. Jahkillian says

PeterGlickman, I understand not having protein wont kill you imidiatly, but what is the effect to your muscles? How much muscles do you lose? People might think they’re lossing fat, but they re only losing water and muscle, both which is very important to keep. lol not lose.

  13. PeterGlickman says

Contrary to what most people think, you can live without protein for several weeks with no ill effect. Fasting (no protein there) has been used to heal and rejuvenate the body for thousands of years. In fact there is a strong Christian tradition of fasting.

Being on a restricted liquid diet is no more like doing the Master Cleanse than driving a go cart is like driving a Rolls Royce.

Your right. I haven’t changed anything from Stanley Burroughs’ Master Cleanse. It’s great as is. I wrote my book because his doesn’t have anything in it about detox symptoms, what they are, when to expect them, what to do about them, what they mean, answers to the 69 most commonly asked questions nor an alphabetic table of contents so people can easily find answers to their questions. If you read my book, you’d know it starts with a dedication to Stanley Burroughs for developing the MC.

No diet is worth vomitting and taking laxatives.
I just got out of the hospital and was on a liquid diet. I was very carefully monitored and had constant fluids being flushed into my body.
This man isn’t even a DOCTOR!
After being on my restrictive liquid diet, that was very carefully monitored, I would Never do this to my body!
    This is just foolishness.

There is absolutely no more info here than what you can read anywhere else.
What about massaging the intestines after the flush?
What about laying on your right side?
What about when to do the flush? Day one? NO

  18. Jahkillian says

Where do you get your protein from?

  19. vigintiduo says

Apparently some people naturally puke when they try to drink it, but it doesn’t happen with everyone.

  20. ValLovesDenis says

Can the salt water flush make you vomit?

  21. enjoyportugal says

I have used the salt flush on and off for the last two years and have always had great results.
I find that it works better if you lie on your right side for 30 minutes after drinking the salt water to allow it to exit the stomach immediately.
Good luck to all who try the SWF, it brings great relief.

  22. PeterGlickman says

Thank you, Dana. It’s true that there is a lot of repetition in the questions. Fortunately, there is a lot of satisfaction in see people’s results and benefits, too.
It is easier to learn what to do from a book because the author can choose what to tell you first, second, etc. When you’re trying to research it all on the web, it takes more reading and searching and sorting through.

  23. PeterGlickman says

If, for any reason you cannot do the salt water, you may do a second cup of laxative tea in the morning. For your info, only about 25% of people have trouble with the salt water flush. And it gets easier as the cleanse goes along. The largest reactions are when people have the most mucus built up. After they’ve eliminated some, it’s much easier. So, even if you choose to do only the tea, try the salt water after a week or so.

  24. PeterGlickman says

It’s not uncommon for it to take 2 or even 3 days before the salt water flush works. This is especially true for people who have eaten lots of meat and dairy as these tend to plug people up.
You do not have to wait until you’ve eliminated the salt water before drinking the lemonade. Just wait 30 minutes.
And don’t worry. Sea salt is not fatal.

Ya know, there really seems to be a ton of repeated questions here… Doesn’t anyone just stop and read these comments first? If you do, most of the answers are already posted because someone else has already asked the same question! The poor Mr. Glickman has to keep repeating himself to you guys. He must have the patience of an angel. Really – GO OUT AND GET HIS BOOK.. OR BUY HIS AUDIO INSTRUCTIONS! Day one of my second cleanse and I’m exited!
