What are we talking about? Detoxing of course!
for those not in the know, a detox works on the theory that our bodies are continually overloaded with toxins, which build up in our system and cause problems.
the idea is that adhering to a diet packed with vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants will help the detoxer lose weight, beat cellulite, banish bloating and end up with glowing skin.
Fancy starting off 2012 with a radiant complexion? then here are some foods to try.

the unique combination of vitamins A, C and E, three of the most potent skin protecting vitamins, makes red capsicums an ideal food for a healthy glow.
the vitamins they contain also plays an important role into the natural detoxification process.

Rich in vitamin E and essential minerals, it can help to keep your skin stay supple. Avocado also contains glutathione, copper, beta-sisterol and other compounds involved in the natural detoxification process.
GARLIC
known as nature’s pharmacy, garlic has powerful antioxidant properties that convert to sulphur-based compounds, which bind to mercury as well as food additives.
It also activates liver enzymes that help to filter out refined foods.
GINGER
Ginger is known for relieving bloating and nausea and it also helps to stimulate digestive enzymes, which support glowing skin.

Stimulates the release of enzymes and helps convert toxins into a water-soluble form that’s easily excreted from the body.
Drinking lemon water, which is alkaline-forming, first thing in the morning will help balance out the acidity of the foods we’ve consumed.

I agree with all of the others that are criticizing the detox fad. Kind of reminds me of the people who go out and get plastered on Friday and Saturday night and then go to church on Sunday asking to be forgiven.
Try making fresh food from fresh ingredients that are in season. And avoid inhaling too much car exhaust when you are exercising or riding your bike or walking in the city. the particles are bad for your lungs.
